Welcome to the Blog

Welcome to the first entry of our blog. We hope to use this area of our site to share random things from our travels. Our videos are a great glimpse into our adventures, but sometimes you just want to chat, right? So here goes….

It is June 19, 2024 and Juneteenth. It is a day to honor and remember the end of slavery in the United States. It is a day that often gives me pause and makes me feel grateful to never have known such a plight in my life. It also gives me hope that things can change, no matter how difficult or uncertain. But I digress, onto lighter subject matters.

We are getting ready for our first Disney Cruise together! I (Wanda) have only been on one Disney Cruise in 2016. It was a group cruise and my first cruise ever. I had no idea what cruising was back then. I only went because I was part of the Mickey Milers running group. We were all running races in the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend and Disney Cruise Line was offering a special medal for jumping on the cruise the day after and then running the 5K on Castaway Cay. It was an unforgettable weekend. I took home 6 medals when it was all said and done. I had run the Goofy Challenge at WDW which granted me 3 medals (Half Marathon, Marathon, and the Goofy Challenge medal). Then on Castaway Cay, we were bestowed a 5K medal, and the special Challenge medal. Lastly, our group had a special medal made for the group. These are some of my most beloved medals of all of my running medals over the years. It was a great time.

That first cruise was a blur of excitement and group events. I can’t say that I remember much of the ports or anything else of the cruise. So I am really looking forward to this upcoming cruise on the Disney Wish and enjoying all that it has to offer. We will be stopping in Nassau, Bahamas and Castaway Cay. I look forward to enjoying all of the dining options, the shows, and especially the adult areas. Chris and I are both Disney fans, so I think we will enjoy the cruise just as much as the kids.

We look forward to sharing our adventures with you! Oh, and we will be starting our trip with a visit to Walt Disney World the night before the cruise! We will be staying at Walt Disney’s Swan and Dolphin, having dinner at Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, and ending the night at Epcot After Hours! We are beyond excited! Stay tuned!
